Television medical expert Dr Uchenna Okoye died on Friday after a sudden illness.
The late star, who often appeared on the ITV show This Morning and was 10 years younger in 10 days, is survived by her daughter. The news of the doctor’s death was confirmed on her Instagram account, where her loved ones shared a picture of Dr. Uchenna and broke the sad news to them.
They wrote: “We are saddened to announce that Dr. Uchenna Okoye sadly passed away after a sudden illness on Friday, September 15, 2023. We know that many of you will be shocked and shaken to see this post. We ask for your prayers and some privacy at this difficult time. We will be in touch with you in the coming days.
Tributes have poured in for Uchenna following the tragic news. One person wrote: “Wonderful Uchenna – it’s so sad. Vitality, kindness, generosity and love were in her soul and those of us who knew her adored her and her beautiful daughter. My condolences to Uchenna’s loving family.” Another added: “Beautiful Uchenna! A beacon of the industry who has quickly become a friend to so many of us. Warm, generous and funny. Sending my condolences to her family and friends.”
Another person commented: “What devastating news. She was such a vibrant and inspiring woman, so passionate about her work. Sending so much love to her family.” Earlier this year, Oceana spoke candidly about the demands of her job and how she relaxed after a long day. Speaking to Hello!, she shared: “I always make time for a massage once a week, but I’ve realized that this isn’t just a luxury. As a busy dentist, I spend a full 10 hours a day sitting looking at people’s mouths, so massage is essential.
Oceana admitted that her “real joy” is lighting a candle. She said it has become a daily ritual for her, as it is present throughout her home. The TV star added: “My daughter loves it too and gets excited when she sees me turning it on because she knows this is her time with me too, it’s her downtime.” This tragic news comes just days after the death of fellow This Morning guest Matty Luke.
The 19-year-old was a regular on the ITV daytime show, where he discussed vacuum cleaners. This morning he issued a heartbreaking statement following the news, describing him as a “delightful young man”. The ITV program wrote: “Everyone on This Morning is shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Matty Luke, who was just 19 years old.
“He was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was contagious. His family came to the studio and were so proud that he had turned a childhood hobby into a career. We will miss him and send our condolences to his family.”
