The Chicago Paint and Coatings Association has extended the deadline to enter your home in the 38th Annual Chicago Best Painted Ladies Competition and Judge.
Now through November 15, you can enter your home or business in this “beauty contest” for homes and businesses.
This competition encourages not only traditional Victorian homes and businesses to participate, but other styles as well. Painting of the home or office must be done between Labor Day 2022 and Labor Day 2023.
Examples of other styles include Tudor, Georgian, Colonial, etc. Other creative projects will also be considered as separate categories, such as gazebos, entry doors, etc. A list of categories can be found in the online entry form at www. .chicagopaint.org.
CPCA is a non-profit trade association made up of member companies who are manufacturers, raw material suppliers and distributors for the paint and coatings industry.
Entries are judged on how paint and chosen colors are used to enhance the appearance of the property. Judges also take into account how well the colors fit the neighborhood and/or area surrounding the building. The trend towards paying more attention to the choice of color and details seems to be part of current life. In some cases, entire neighborhoods have been inspired to renovate their homes, and there are hundreds of colors or shades of color to choose from to create a better-looking home or business.
The Chicago and Northwest Indiana regions are divided into five sectors: North, Northwest, West, Southwest, and South; There are two categories: “non-professional” and “professionally drawn”.
Participants are asked to submit before-and-after photos or high-quality digital photos printed on high-quality paper to ensure accurate representation of colors. Samples of paint chips must be submitted with the official entry form. Winners are selected from the categories on the entry form.
Not every category may produce a winner each year, and more than one winner may be selected from a category. Once selected, winners will be notified by phone.
