Celebrities are like everyone else, having spooky experiences ranging from spirits in their childhood homes to communicating with psychics even when it’s not the spooky season.
Traumatic experiences can happen to anyone, even celebrities.
Some ghost experts share their signs that a scary spirit is nearby. They think rooms will get cold, pets act strange, doors open and close on their own, there are creaking noises, and unexplained smells to name a few.
There are also different types of ghosts. Evil spirits make noise and move things. Orbs are balls of light, while other ghosts appear as mist or wisps of air.
In honor of the spooky season, here are some celebrities who have had terrifying experiences.

Kesha
The TikTok singer had a Discover+ TV series called Conjuring Kesha where she and her celebrity guests go on a ghost hunting trip across the United States. In one episode, she and Whitney Cummings explored a haunted prison in Tennessee, where the two reportedly conjured a demon that tricked Whitney into believing it was a transgender ghost, according to a demonologist who was with them.
Kendall Jenner
The model and reality TV star shared with Vogue that Kris Jenner’s house has a creepy presence about it. Kendall said: “In the house where my mother (Kylie Jenner) lived, I would always hear footsteps on the roof when no one was in the house. Kylie’s shower was running all the time, and we never knew why. So yes, I am convinced it was a ghost.” “
Gigi Hadid
Gigi said that she and her brothers were chased while they were at her father, Mohamed Hadid’s house. In the same Vogue video that Kendall opened up with, Gigi explained, “When we were kids, we lived in this really old house, and I was given the attic as my room. We would hear this weird sound in the closet, and then we asked my dad, and he said this old lady was “You live at home.”
Demi Lovato
Demi shared in an article they wrote for Buzzfeed that her childhood home was haunted. “My house in Texas is ridiculously haunted. Not by a poltergeist, but by a little girl. I think her name is Emily. I’ve had a medium and two ghost hunters visit me, and they both told me the same thing,” they wrote. “Her name is Emily. I saw her many times when I was growing up.”
Helen Bonham Carter
Helen went to a psychic after she was cast as Princess Margaret in The Crown. The actress wanted to communicate with the deceased to learn more about her. “She said, apparently, that she was happy because it was me… ‘You’re better than the other actress’ they were thinking of,” she said at the Cheltenham Literary Festival in 2019. “They wouldn’t acknowledge who she was. ‘It was me and someone else.’ “That made me think she might be here, because that’s classic Margaret. She was really good at complimenting you and belittling you at the same time.”
Vanessa Hudgens
During the Kelly Clarkson Show, the High School Musical star spoke about a traumatic experience she had as a child. “I remember getting ready to go to school when I was eight, and there were… you know, those ducks (the toys) that you pull (the string)?” “There was one of them at the dining room table, and I started walking, and he started walking next to me,” Vanessa said.
