A man who won a £3.5million mansion overlooking Gleneagles Golf Course after entering a draw for a £10 Omaze prize says it is a “dream come true”.

The winner of the latest Omaze Million Pound House draw – the first to be held in Scotland – has been announced as John from Berkshire.

No further details were provided about the winner, but he revealed that he is a regular in the charity draws organized by Omaze. ‘I’m a subscriber so I never miss a draw. It’s an easy way to donate money to charity. It’s definitely a dream come true.

John will receive the keys to the six-bedroom property which comes complete with its own entertainment room, entertainment suite, cinema room, guest annexe and golf simulator.

The new owner can live, rent or sell the home near Auchterard, Perthshire, and will also receive £100,000.

The raffle raised £1.8 million for the Breast Cancer Charity to help continue its research and support people affected by the disease.

The total number was announced in a video filmed at the Gleneagles estate by Omaze.

Sally Comm, associate director of nursing at Breast Cancer Now, said: “£1 million means we can fund 33,000 hours of research.” Going above and beyond is amazing.

“The impact of breast cancer is wide and diverse, so we are here to support people in any way they need.”

The contemporary property is set in over half an acre of gardens and grounds. It comes with no mortgage, with all stamp duty and legal fees covered.

If the winner decides to rent it out, estate agents estimate he could make around £7,500 a month.

The heart of the house is an ornate open-plan kitchen and dining area that opens onto a south-facing garden with sliding doors.

The room is also completed with a cozy lounge space connected to the dining area by a double-sided fireplace.
