CONCORD — Former Cabarrus County Board of Education member Holly Edwards announced Friday that she will enter the race for the NC House District 73 seat.
Edwards, who has reverted to her maiden name (known as Holly Grimsley on the school board), plans to apply to the newly redrawn district when the application period opens.
The application period begins at noon on Monday, December 4th and ends at noon on Friday, December 15th. The North Carolina primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5.
“I have enjoyed serving our community during my many years of service on the Cabarrus County Board of Education and especially the years I served as board president. I value the relationships I have built with my county commissioners and state legislators,” Edwards said.
“I look forward to representing our community and being a proactive voice in Raleigh where we need strong leaders who advocate for and support a high-quality education system, economic development that continues to grow our job market and workforce, and sustainable tax rates that benefit us all but especially our working families.”
