If there is one color that has the ability to transcend all interior trends and dazzle designers throughout the centuries, it is white. The benefits of this tone are plentiful, making it a safe (yet sophisticated) choice for every room in the house, but none more so than the kitchen—and Sheryl Crow’s home is no exception.
The singer, who naturally resides in the country music capital of Nashville, shared a glimpse inside her all-white kitchen, complete with glass-fronted cabinets and upright storage painted in the color.
By choosing white, Cheryl has ensured that her kitchen will impress long after 2023, with many designers suggesting that this color will remain trendy for decades and even centuries into the future. But what makes it so immortal? We asked them to weigh in.
‘White kitchens remain timeless for many reasons. Choosing this kitchen color is a good bet because it gives your kitchen a sense of simplicity and cleanliness as well as elegance and sophistication,” comments Chelsea Potthast, principal of Potthast Design.
“Color is a versatile canvas for a homeowner to add their own style through lighting and plumbing fixtures. It lends itself to different aesthetic types, making it easy to customize,” she says. “A white kitchen is also attractive to a wide range of buyers.” Prospective homes if you consider resale value.”
While Cheryl doesn’t seem to be competing with a small space, Chelsea adds that this color is especially impactful in small kitchens due to its volume-enhancing properties.
“White reflects light and helps create the perception of space even in a small room with little natural light,” she says.
Interior designer Chelsea Potthast is the founder of Potthast Design. Chelsea began her design career in Los Angeles where she worked with a wide range of clients in the hospitality and residential design industries. She then returned to her hometown, St. Petersburg, in 2016 and opened her own interior design company.
Also unsurprisingly, Chelsea isn’t exclusive in her remarks. “White kitchens are timeless because they are clean, versatile and flexible,” adds Elana Mendelsohn, CEO of Elana Designs.
“Its aesthetic can be enhanced and updated by updating accents, decor, and design elements without having to renovate the entire space.” This allows the white kitchen to stand the test of time because it is classic and international.’
We’re buying our way into Sheryl Crow’s space with these three picks (including one of our all-time favorite whites) below.
