Rita Ora has spent £5million on a huge mansion in New Zealand with husband Taika Waititi
Married life is going strong for Rita Ora – as I can reveal her husband Taika Waititi has just splashed out £5million on one of the loved-up couple.
The New Zealand director, who married singer Rita last August at their home in Los Angeles, invested in a sprawling mansion in the upscale suburb of Point Chevalier in Auckland.
Set on two-thirds of an acre, with its own private beach access, the four-bedroom, three-story home is the most expensive property in the neighborhood by far.
It features a swimming pool, veranda, private gardens, large garage, sun terrace and stunning views across the bay.
Taika’s daughters, Matua Kiritapu and Te Hinkahu – from his previous marriage to Chelsea Winstanley – still reside in New Zealand, so it’s perfect for them too.
An insider said: “Although Taika and Rita spend a lot of time in the US and UK, New Zealand is still a big part of their identity and their life together.
“So having a place they can call home is really important to him and his family.
“They have already started decorating and purchasing furniture to fit the space.
“They can’t wait to spend time there.”
Last year I told how the newlyweds enjoyed a romantic honeymoon on the stunning Waiheke Island, off the coast of Auckland, in a villa that cost £500 a night.
Speaking to Vogue about their intimate wedding, Rita, who owns a £7.5 million Grade II listed home in London, said: “It’s like nothing has changed since the day I met her.
“It feels so good to be with my best friend.”

Emily: “I’ve had meltdowns.”
Emily Atack has revealed that her brave documentary about sexual harassment caused her “several breakdowns”.
On the TV show Asking For It?, broadcast on BBC Two in January, she spoke frankly about her experiences receiving unwanted abuse and harassment online.
“To be honest, it was terrible,” the actress said of the TV show.
“The documentary that came out was a really difficult time for my family.
“There were moments where I was like, ‘I don’t think I can face another day of this.'”
Emily added: “I had a few breakdowns in the middle of it. It was rough.”
She said on stage at Stylist Live: “The terrible thing about this kind of thing is that everyone blames themselves – which is why I called the documentary Asking For It?”
The Inbetweeners star said she also felt uncomfortable at work.
She added: “I found myself in terrible situations, especially on film sets.
“I had to reconstruct those events in my head as a coping mechanism and say, ‘Maybe this was my fault, a little bit, if a man in a position of power abused trust.’
BYKER GROOVE duo reunites
GIRLS ALOUD’s impending reunion seems to have inspired another girl group to get back together.
I can reveal that Nineties Crush duo – Donna Air and Jayni Hoy, both from popular children’s show Byker Grove – have met for the first time in 30 years.
The pair, who had a huge hit with Gillehead in 1996, spoke over a lavish lunch at the Aqua Shard restaurant in London.
A source said: “They are older and wiser now and are enjoying reliving their days on the road while performing.
“They had some members of their old team join them and floated the idea of performing again – anything is possible.”
Fingers crossed they get it.
Kim Kardashian got some head start out on the town in this revealing outfit.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star flaunted her assets in a corset-style halter dress while attending NFL star Odell Beckham Jr.’s 31st birthday party in New York on Monday.
This comes on the heels of a rumor in People magazine that the SKIMS Underwear founder was “hanging out” with Baltimore Ravens player Odell.
But Kim, who has four children with ex Kanye West, seems to be picky when it comes to her partners.
In a new episode of her reality show The Kardashians, she listed qualities of her “future Mr. Perfect” which included “not airing our dirty laundry.”
Maybe there’s a Kardashian and Beckham union on the horizon after all. . .
Rap Idris committed a single knife crime
Idris Elba releases a rap song to raise money for knife crime charities.
The star actor recorded a video in east London this weekend for his song Knife Bill, which saw him take aim at politicians.
Idris had been publicly calling for tougher action against knife crime after 15-year-old Eliane Andam was stabbed to death in the capital in September.
The Hackney-born star said online: “It is a shame that our country is still mourning the deaths of children at the hands of knives.
“We need to impose tougher sanctions and deterrents on those who carry weapons.”
Charities that will benefit from Idris’ release include the Ben Kinsella Trust, Lives Not Knives and the Jodie Chesney Foundation.
A spokesperson for the Ben Kinsella Trust said: “Idris’s decision to donate to the trust is a strong statement about his commitment to tackling knife crime.
“He is a role model for young people, and his support will help us reach more of them with our prevention message.”
I did well.
