Join local library and bookstore The Wandering Jellyfish to celebrate the release of Elaine Meyer and Brisida Magro’s new picture book, Gift & Box! Enjoy reading the new book followed by a thank you postcard writing activity. After that, the book will be available for purchase and Ellen and Breseda will sign the books. Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with their fun cardboard gift creations, too!

Temperatures are rising in Colorado and around the world. This is just one of the many ways in which human-induced climate change affects our lives. But disasters like wildfires and floods — two of Colorado’s biggest threats — are also affected by our built environment and where and how we live.

Join Boulder-based meteorologist and journalist Bob Henson as he examines our warming world and considers some of the ways we can reduce the risks posed by extreme weather and climate events, both globally and locally.

Winter Wonderland: Santa Claus Life Model

The Clover Building at the Boulder County Fairgrounds

Immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of the holiday season, and bring your drawing supplies, colored pencils and watercolors to work with Santa as your life model. This workshop is designed for all levels of artists, from beginners to experienced artists who want to enhance their artistic skills and bring the Christmas spirit to life.

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to draw and color Santa Claus in a variety of poses and settings, using him as your live model. Rob Burt (aka Santa) is a lifelong Longmont resident. You can learn more about his work as Santa at https://www.facebook.com/SantaAndCompany

These are brought by attendees, i.e. drawing boards, paints, canvases, and small easels that attendees may want to use in the live modeling session. Tables and chairs will be provided. Sink and water available.

Light the way for One Less: VCP’s inaugural lighting ceremony

Featuring a Santa workshop for kids, carols, cookies, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa himself, we are excited to welcome the entire community to light the way for a homeless veteran this year!

We will turn on the Village Lights for Tiny Homes and our Community Center at 7:25pm and kick off the season of giving on a special Colorado Giving Day!

Every $25 donation to Colorado Gives will also power a portable holiday light at the event to showcase the amazing light display our community creates for veterans in need.

42nd Annual Christmas Tree Festival

Join us for the 42nd Annual Christmas Tree Festival! We raffled off dozens of themed trees decorated with goodies while enjoying great food, friends and fun! All proceeds from this beloved Longmont winter tradition benefit the TLC Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to families in our community so their children can access the remedial early learning services they need to succeed.
