The Big Wheel has been lifted, the log cabins have been put into operation, and the Alpine pubs have been completed – the Sheffield Christmas Market 2023 is taking shape.
There are only two sleepers left until the annual festive market kicks off on Thursday 16 November.
It won’t be long now until over 50 log cabins run by local tradesmen are open for business, and the three Alpine bars are open for hot chocolate, mulled wine and Irish cream at all times of the day.

It may be bittersweet for some that this year will not see the lights officially switched on in Sheffield due to works at Fargate.
After all, there are only two days to wait to ride the Big Wheel, enjoy Santa’s Grotto or eat festive food from the vendors, with the market spread across Penistone Street, Town Hall Square, Peace Gardens and The Moor.
See our gallery below to see how the market is coming together.
Hours this year will be 10am-6pm Sunday-Thursday, and 10am-8pm Friday and Saturday.
