Noel Gallagher and Sarah Macdonald ‘settle their bitter divorce as she is expected to receive £20m plus their £8m mansion’
Oasis legend Noel Gallagher and his ex-wife Sarah MacDonald have finalized their divorce, with Sarah set to receive huge payouts.
Insiders suggest Sarah, 52, a music publicist, could get £20million and her £8million Hampshire mansion.
A source told The Sun: “Sarah stayed in the house after their split and Noel moved out. She is expected to stay there.
He added: “They have deliberately done things quietly and behind closed doors, avoiding any kind of public battles, and they have the resources to do so.”
“In the end, they only communicated through lawyers.”
They added that reaching an agreement would have been a “huge relief” for both and that both sides seemed “happy enough”.
It is believed things became so tense between the estranged couple that they only communicated through lawyers in the final stages of their divorce.
After agreeing to the settlement, which was finalized last month, they both traveled abroad to celebrate, with Noel landing in Vegas, and Sarah joining her friends in Ibiza.
MailOnline has contacted Noel’s representatives for comment.
Since the split, Noel has been living in the lap of luxury at the Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair, London, while he waits for his new apartment in Maida Vale to be renovated.
The rocker, who now fronts the band High Flying Birds, told how writing his latest album helped him “come to terms” with the breakup.
“Divorce is a long, drawn-out process, so it definitely affects the mood of the album,” he said.
“When you’re an artist, you write about what you know, and I don’t have much to say about life in general, because I don’t really care about most of the things I see in the news.
“So when things happen in your life that you can express, I tend to jump on them, and that leads to better art.”
It comes after Noel recently spoke out about his split from Sarah in January After 12 years of marriage.
he He revealed that the couple were “tired of each other”, which he said was not unusual for couples in their 50s.
Sarah is Noel’s second wife, whom he met at Ibiza nightclub Space in 2000, a year before his divorce from his first wife Meg Matthews, 57 – the mother of his eldest child, Anaïs, 23.
The former couple became famous for their austere lifestyle during the heyday of Britpop in the mid-1990s, living it up during wild nights out with North London’s notorious Primrose Hill group, which included supermodel Kate Moss and actress Sadie Frost.
But after their split, it was reported that Noel was having an affair with Sarah, a claim they both denied.
Noel and Sarah married in 2011 at the Limewood Hotel in the New Forest in a £60,000 ceremony attended by guests including Russell Brand – but younger brother and former bandmate Liam said he was not invited.
They have sons Donovan, 15, and Sonny, 12.
