According to Lucy, Mary often called when she visited the village and its ancient shrines.

She told the publication: “She’ll come over and have a cup of tea. When we moved in, she had a party to introduce us to all the neighbours. They’re all very friendly.”

Mary reportedly opted to ‘downsize’ in 2017 and moved with husband Paul Honings into a £2.6million property due to it being ‘closer to Waitrose’.

The sprawling new four-bedroom property in Henley comes complete with a detached cottage, double garage with gym, tennis court and indoor pool featuring a swim-up bar and giant palm tree mural.

Costing £2.6million – £400,000 less than the original asking price – the move also ensures the star and her 57-year-old husband can enjoy their twilight years in comfort.

But most importantly, the new platform has another key advantage: it is only eight minutes away from the nearest Waitrose store.

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘She’s really excited about being closer to Waitrose and has already realized it’s only an eight-minute walk away.’

“They have hired builders at the moment and have a lot of work done, and are hoping to move in around Christmas.”
