Lily Allen has revealed she is auditioning for a US drama school after making her West End debut, and admits she is enjoying the ‘anonymity’ of living in the US with husband David Harbour.
Lily Allen is reportedly set to join drama school after the success of her performances in the West End’s Ghost Story 2.22 and The Pillowman.
The 38-year-old actress and singer recently jetted across the pond to start a new life with husband David Harbor and daughters Ethel, 10, and Marnie, 11, who she shares with ex Sam Cooper.
Now Lily has opened up about what life has been like since living in her home in Brooklyn in the US.
Speaking on the podcast For Who Are You Dressed For?, with designer and model Kyle Devol, Lily said: “I’ve got an audition with a drama school in New York, so hopefully I can go and study for a while.”
“The idea of going to drama school excites me.”
Lily went on to talk about the big move and how she’s finding living in the Big Apple, adding: “I’ve really enjoyed it.
“I enjoy the anonymity there, and I enjoy it for my kids – I’m a mum, I make packed lunches, I take them to school.
“Then I might write for a few hours, read some scripts, go to the gym, pick up the kids and make them dinner, and that’s my existence.” I really enjoyed it.
“Sometimes I need to stroke my ego, so I hop on a plane and go home to London for a few weeks – then I say ‘I’m bored now’ and go home.”
Lily recently made a public show of unity at a basketball game in New York on Thursday, after being plagued by rumors that their marriage was in crisis.
The pair were photographed for the first time since questions arose about their relationship when Lily unfollowed the Stranger Things actor on social media.
But Lily and David seemed to be enjoying some quality time together as they sat on the court and watched the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the New York Knicks.
Speculation increased further when Lily was not pictured with the Netflix star in recent days, with David attending Thom Browne’s 20th anniversary dinner alone on Monday.
However, the couple seemed to have brushed off speculation regarding their nuptials as they enjoyed some time off from their parenting duties to watch the match.
To add to the confusion, a week before Lily unfollowed, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary.
Lily shared a photo from her wedding day on Instagram – which is still on her grid.
She commented on the photo, saying: “3 years with this man, the second best decision I have ever made.” The first was that dress.
The simple ceremony was performed by Elvis Presley impersonator and church co-owner Brendan Paul.
The pair were first linked in January 2019 when they attended the BAFTA Tea Party together.
