Famous faces are heading to town tonight for a very special fashion show led by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. A star-studded line-up of celebrities has arrived at Vogue World, which has been dubbed Britain’s answer to the Met Gala in New York.

The ceremony was held at the Theater Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End, and singer Rita Ora and Big Brother’s AJ Ododo were among the first to arrive, posing for photos on the red carpet. It is the first time in the capital after the launch of Vogue World in America.

Wintour’s glitzy concert is a fundraiser for Britain’s performing arts scene. She insisted the industry was “under threat” and therefore all net proceeds from ticket sales would go to a range of performing arts organisations.

Among those set to receive the money are the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House and the Royal Ballet. Tonight’s event will feature several fashion shows featuring collections from British fashion brands such as 16 Arlington, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood, kicking off London Fashion Week, which begins on Friday.

Vogue World’s dress code is for opening night, with the invitation design showing a West End stage draped in red velvet curtains. Plenty of A-list stars are expected at the 2,000-capacity event, including actors, TV personalities and of course, models.
