Homes worth more than $2 million have been built in Lakeside along Grapevine Lake in Flower Mound

A group of multimillion-dollar homes along Grapevine Lake is now being constructed in Flower Mound.

Developer Realty Capital Management said Tuesday that Van Trease Architectural Designs will build 58 “villa” homes in the 165-acre Lakeside community with a starting price of $2 million. The homes range in size from 2,700 to 3,800 square feet with Mediterranean-style architecture.

The initial phase will include 21 homes, with construction beginning on the first 10 homes. It will take about 10 months to a year to build the houses.

“The small footprint of villa homes allows owners to benefit from a smaller-scale home with less maintenance, but without sacrificing fit-out and finish,” said Vanessa Van Trees, broker and owner of Lakeside Village Realty Group, a brokerage firm that sells villa homes. .

Lakeside includes shops, restaurants, offices and homes and 75 percent of it is already built, according to Realty Capital, which has been developing the community since 2011. When fully completed, the community will contain about 2,200 residences and 705,000 square feet of commercial space, for a total value, the developer said. $2.2 billion.

Construction began on a 16-story high-rise apartment tower, 3111 Sunset, in the community in December.

The villa homes are part of the final phase of the 40-acre Lakeside estate, called Lakeside Village, on the Grapevine Lake peninsula.

“Lakeside is designed for residents to live outside the front door of their home,” said Jimmy Archie, managing partner of Realty Capital, noting its proximity to amenities such as trails, a dog park and a public deck along the lake.

Van Trease Architectural Designs, led by Corey Van Trease, has built custom estate homes throughout northeastern Tarrant County and southern Denton County, including Southlake, Colleyville, Westlake, Flower Mound and Argyle, according to Realty Capital.

Van Trease has built seven condos, two poolside bungalows and eight three-story townhouses on Lakeside.
