From two private planes to multiple palaces

Taylor Swift’s massive tour helped make her an American billionaire at just 33 years old.

The famous singer, who was seen in New York on Thursday with actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, has made $400 million (£320 million) in music sales in the past four years and an estimated $370 million (£305 million) in tickets and merchandise.

Her bank balance also received a big boost from the Eras Tour in the US, where she sold $700m (£576m) worth of tickets.

Analysis by finance experts at Bloomberg suggests Taylor is now worth at least £890 million – the equivalent of $1 billion.

Taylor has been very smart with her money since the dollars started flowing in, which has helped her massive fortune rise.

She has invested a large sum of money in an impressive real estate portfolio, which began in 2009 with a beachfront apartment that she still owns today.

Taylor owns several homes in New York, including a massive 10-bed, 10-bath penthouse in the city’s trendy Tribeca neighborhood.

She actually acquired two adjoining apartments in 2014 before turning them into a giant apartment.

Taylor also owns a 1934 mansion in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, which sits on approximately two acres of land and was initially owned by film producer Samuel Goldwyn.

The Cruel Summer star’s estate has since been granted “prominent status” by the Beverly Hills City Council, much to Taylor’s delight.

Elsewhere, the American singer is believed to have spent her money on two private jets, including a £40million Gulfstream jet. There’s even an Instagram account dedicated to tracking her planes.

Back on Earth, she also has an impressive car collection, including a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and a Ferrari 458 Italia.

However, last year, Taylor kept things real by driving around London in a no-frills Nissan Qashqai.

She is also partial to shelling out expensive cat breeds.

The animal lover owns three pedigree cats, named Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button – and one has a huge bank balance.

Earlier this year, Olivia Benson – a Scot – was estimated to be worth $97 million due to her huge Instagram following and appearances in the pop star’s music videos.

Taylor’s huge fortune is partly attributed to her decision to re-record her back catalog of albums after selling the rights without her permission.

This decision has earned her hundreds of millions and helped her top the charts with seven albums since 2019.

Earlier this month, the singer topped the UK box office with The Eras Tour Film, which grossed more than £76 million globally in its opening weekend.

She will be touring the UK next summer where she will perform ten sold-out stadium shows, as well as other dates around the world.

Next Friday, she is expected to record her 11th album in the UK with the re-recorded version of her hit album 1989, which was released yesterday and includes the songs Shake It Off and Blank Space.

The only female artist to take first place is Madonna with 12.

But Madonna (65 years old) has a smaller fortune and is worth an estimated 700 million pounds sterling.

“I was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time in 2014, and a part of me has been reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so much,” Taylor wrote about the album on Instagram yesterday.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic you would sprinkle over my life for so long.”
