Four women accuse Russell Brand – teenage schoolgirl, classmate and rape allegation
Four women have come forward with serious allegations against comedian Russell Brand, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, which he vehemently denies.
Comedian and actor Russell Brand has been accused of sexual assault by four different women, with the alleged assaults occurring over a seven-year period from 2006 to 2013. The allegations came to light following a joint investigation by The Sunday Times and Channel. 4 dispatches.
One woman claims she was a 16-year-old schoolgirl when Brand, 31, assaulted her, during what she described as an emotionally abusive relationship that lasted about three months. Another woman claims Brand sexually assaulted her while they were working together in Los Angeles, and says he threatened her with legal action if she chose to tell anyone.
A third woman claims she was raped by Brand against a wall in his Los Angeles home, while a fourth claims Brand sexually assaulted her, and was also physically and emotionally abusive to her. The claims were published ahead of a Channel 4 Dispatch investigation, Russell Brand: In Plain Sight, which will be broadcast this evening at 9pm.
It comes after Brand, 48, took to YouTube to announce that he “completely refutes” what he described as the “very serious allegations” made against him.
At the time the alleged assaults occurred, Brand was at the height of his fame, presenting programs for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4, while starring in Hollywood films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Bring It to the Greek, and Arthur.
Dolly’s friend is 16 years old
As The Times reported, one of the women, referred to as Alice, claims she was just 16 years old and still in school when the 31-year-old sexually assaulted her. She says she had never had sex before meeting Brand, that he was obsessed with her being a virgin, and referred to her as “my little doll” and “baby” during their three-month relationship.
According to Alice, Brand allegedly “forced his penis down her throat” at one point, causing her to choke. After trying to push him away, Alice says she had to punch Brand in the stomach to make him stop.
Alleged rape in a Los Angeles home
Another woman claims that Brand raped her against a wall in his Los Angeles home. Medical records show she was treated at a rape crisis center on the same day of the alleged attack, while text messages show that, after leaving Brand’s home, she told him she felt intimidated and taken advantage of, writing: “When a girl says ‘s’ it doesn’t mean no.” Brand responded by saying he was “very sorry.”
Threatening legal action
A third woman claims she was sexually assaulted by Brand during their time working together in Los Angeles. According to this woman, Brand threatened to take legal action against her if she told anyone about her allegations.
Physical and emotional abuse
A fourth woman has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Brand and claims that he was physically and emotionally abusive to her as well.
