A townhouse in Taylor Swift’s former London neighborhood has just been listed for $12.2 million
London’s posh Primrose Hill area attracts a lot of stars, with the likes of confessional poet Sylvia Plath, Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, and pop phenomenon Taylor Swift all owning homes in the leafy neighborhood at one point. Among a slew of other famous people who have resided at one time or another in the north London borough are Kate Moss, Noel Gallagher, Gwyneth Paltrow and Harry Styles. Now, a townhouse on the upscale village’s most popular street is up for grabs.
On the market for £10 million (about $12.2 million) with Knight Frank and Savills, this Grade II listed residence belongs to a series of attractive Victorian-era residences facing Chalcot Square. Located on a corner plot and painted in an earthy orange colour, this luxury property has five bedrooms and four bathrooms across its five floors.

“There is always an element of excitement when a home comes on the market in Chalcot Square,” says Orly Lehmann, head of Belsize Park & Primrose Hill sales at Knight Frank, in a press release. “As one of the most famous (and most photographed) streets in Primrose Hill, the cluster of colorful Italianate houses set around a charming garden square is incredibly popular.”
The 4,025-square-foot space is filled with Old World details, including ornate cornices, hand-carved staircases, classic columns, and beveled oak plank floors. The house also gets plenty of sunlight thanks to the handcrafted double-glazed windows. The views over the square are not shabby either. For those who like their historic homes to have some contemporary luxuries, the home features underfloor heating throughout and is equipped with smart electrical controls and a Sonos sound system.
Just inside the ground floor entrance is an oak-panelled reception room currently used as an office. One flight up is all the entertainment spaces, including an open kitchen and dining area, plus a library. Elsewhere, two bedrooms are located on the second floor, while the master suite occupies the entire third floor and has access to a private terrace.
Adding to the versatility of the house, the lower ground floor offers two independent apartments with a separate entrance making it ideal for accommodating grandparents, guests or older children. They would also work well for home workers or as income-producing rentals.
“Properties of these dimensions, style and finishes can be difficult to come by in the city, so it is a pleasure to bring this family home to the market,” says Elias Raymond, head of sales at Savills in Primrose Hill. . However, seeing celebrities in the supermarket or bar is not guaranteed.
