The allotments on Willingale Ave in Lockleys do not hit the market very often.
And when they do, they don’t have to do anything like that.
Sellers Maria and Anthony have just completed their dream home – after three years of construction – and although purchasing another property means they will never move into their stunning architectural home at 10 Willingale Ave overlooking the Kooyonga Golf Course, Anthony is confident another family will love it just as much It is as much the case as it will be for him.

‘Give up’: An Australian’s elusive dream of owning a home
How much does it cost now to build a house?
“I was looking for something architectural and full of natural light – that was very important to me, especially since it overlooked the golf course,” Anthony says.
“I’ve been building homes for many years and have been in and out of countless homes, so I had a really good idea of what I wanted.
“It was my wife’s and my dream home, and we spent a lot of time planning how the layout and exterior would work.
“I’m from the western suburbs and I think Willingale Street is without a doubt the best street in the West, and it’s really tight, so when a piece of land came up there, we were quick to jump on it – it was the only street we wanted to build our dream home on.
“It was a dream come true and it was perfect for us.”
Designed by renowned architect Damian Campagnolo and built by Thirteen Commercial, the house offers two levels of luxurious living, with the ground floor consisting of two spacious living areas separated by a terrace, and a back balcony overlooking a sparkling swimming pool. And a garage for four cars.
It has four bedrooms upstairs, including the master suite with dressing room, lounge area, walk-in robe, balcony and en-suite bathroom.
“The master suite was very important to me, and we based the room on a hotel room we had stayed in a long time ago,” Anthony says.
“This was also designed for living in and not just for sleeping.
“I’m very upset and we took our time with the matter and went over the details to make sure we got it right.”
Having now purchased another property that his mother has long expressed a desire to live in, Anthony says it is time for the family to live out their dream.
“Buying something I aspired to have from a little kid was always the only reason we couldn’t move into this house,” he says.
“I’m very proud of that. It’s amazing, and it’s even better than we could have hoped.”
