3 Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra rumors that will make you skip the iPhone 15 Pro Max

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max has been the center of attention since its reveal, but we’ve yet to hear from one of its top competitors: Samsung. The South Korea-based consumer electronics company has already announced its range of foldable phones, but if that’s not for you, the flagship Galaxy series is scheduled to launch sometime next year before Mobile World Congress. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of the best non-iPhone phones on the market right now, but it doesn’t hurt to look to the future – especially if you’re hesitant about getting the 15 Pro Max. (You may not be able to get one anytime soon anyway.)

1. Design and presentation

Similar to how Apple decided to go the titanium route with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, there are rumors that Samsung is planning to follow in the Cupertino-based tech giant’s footsteps. These rumors became stronger after Apple confirmed this at its “Wonderlust” event earlier this month.

While the Galaxy S24 Ultra It won’t look too different from its predecessorsIt has been rumored that the company will ditch its signature curved display for a flatter design to complement its new titanium frame. One of the leakers said that although the sides will remain curved, the screen will be completely flat.

This modern design doesn’t mean extra weight, in case you were wondering. Prolific leaker Ice Universe says the S24 Ultra is expected to do just that Reasonable weight: 223 grams Or four cinnamon buns.

Even more impressively, while maintaining the 6.8-inch, 1440p resolution, the S24 Ultra’s display may feature a whopping 2,500 nits of brightness, a big step up from the previous model’s 1,750 nits. Both iPhone 15 Pro models offer a brightness of only 2,000 nits.

2. Camera innovations

The camera technology of the Samsung S24 Ultra may not see major changes, but there is a big focus on improving the experience from the S23 Ultra. The S24 Ultra is suggested to use an improved version of its 200MP primary lens. Additionally, the S24 Ultra will also likely retain its 12MP ultrawide cameras and selfie cameras as well.

The biggest change may be a new telephoto lens for increased clarity in zoomed images. An enhanced 50MP lens with 3X optical zoom will reportedly replace the Ultra 10MP 3X telephoto sensor. However, and this may be a deal breaker, according to Ice Universe, Samsung may scrap the other telephoto sensor – the one that has a 10x optical zoom. In other words, you’re said to be getting a new 50MP 3X optical zoom which should deliver sharper, crisper details, but unfortunately, you may lose out on Samsung’s popular 10MP 10X optical zoom sensor.

If this rumor is true, on paper, the Galaxy S24 Ultra should offer higher-resolution photos compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 12MP periscope camera and 5X optical zoom. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will give you a greater optical zoom range before the software kicks in.

3. Strength and performance improvements

The S24 Ultra is expected to have some serious power. It’s rumored to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, after it ditched the Exynos chipset last year in favor of the S23 Ultra. according to Pocket Lintthis upgrade should provide “an equal amount of efficiency while providing plenty of extra power under the hood.”

Powered by One UI 6, the S24 Ultra is said to have a faster GPU that will provide a significant graphics upgrade for those who love playing mobile games. This upgrade is complemented by 16GB of RAM, doubling the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 8GB capacity. Charging won’t be a tall order either, with fast charging capacity expected at 65W – besting the S23 Ultra’s 45W capabilities. The same probably can’t be said for the base models, unfortunately.

If these rumors are true, the Galaxy S24 could be the best Samsung has to offer, but don’t be surprised if it costs the same price as the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
